Due to supply chain issues, homebuilders all over the country are struggling to finish new houses because they are all having problems getting garage doors. In most parts of the country, a builder can't pass a final inspection or receive a certificate of occupancy for a home that is missing its garage door. That means builders don't collect a dime and homebuyers can't move in without them. To deal with the supply-chain issue, the Sacramento city building department came up with a provisional agreement allowing a home to pass its final inspection with a painted plywood barrier sealing the garage.
