I photographed Nicki Jones in Paradise, CA for Financial Times.

Nicki’s home was burned in 2018, it was the deadliest fire in Californian history. Nicki bought her neighbour’s house and she is in the process of rebuilding her home.

“I’m 76 years old. I’m very healthy, very energetic. I can’t spend my life worrying about it. Well, I could, but I choose not to.”
