Typhoon Haiyan, or locally known as Yolanda, the most powerful storm ever recorded struck the southern part of Philippines triggering flash floods and strong winds up to 200 miles/hr that caused a catastrophic damage to the region. Many towns and cities were devastated. Over 6000 people have been confirmed dead and thousands are displaced.
