Typhoon Haiyan, or locally known as Yolanda, the most powerful storm ever recorded, struck the southern part of Philippines on November 8, 2013 triggering flash floods and strong winds up to 200 miles/hr that caused a catastrophic damage to the region. Many towns and cities were devastated. Over 6000 people have been confirmed dead and thousands are still missing and displaced.
